Perfect Intersection of Form and Function
This is another fantastic product from Viski! I have had a couple similar mixing glasses from other companies, but nothing has compared to the aesthetic and practical qualities of the Admiral Stainless Steel Double-Walled Mixing Glass. The double-walled construction does a great job of balancing chilling and dilution from room temperature, and it looks great on the bar to boot. I highly recommend it!
Good for a home bar but not for high volume.
On first touch it seems well made. The problems are the capacity and the weight. If you build two Manhattans in this mixing tin it gets awkwardly full very quickly with not a lot of room for ice to freely move around. It also doesn't have the weight of a typical stirring glass, so the tin moves and shifts around as you stir. This would be fine for a home bar where you can hold in place with one hand as you stir with the other. In a professional bar however, stirring one drink looks clunky and uncool as it shifts and moves around, and double stirring two cocktails is nearly impractical. If this had a 22-25 Oz capacity with a slightly wider mouth, and real heavy-duty weight, this would be a perfect bar solution and a no brainer replacement for breakable glass. As it is, the potential is overshadowed by the practicality of the glass as it currently is.
