What a great way to crush ice AND get rid of stress too!!!
I am a bartender by trade and wanted to up my game. This duo is a head turner first when you prepare the ice into the bag and then again as the distinctive noise of the mallet striking the bag send out notes of curiosity to the surrounding area. It's like putting on a show for the guest. They love it and the way the ice is presented in the beverage. Bag is sized for up to two average sized drinks. I would not over stuff it. If you want the mallet to last longer and look deeper in color I applied boiled linseed oil by hand to it. This will also keep it from drying out and possible spliting. I used 3 coats and it looks terrific. Apply again when it starts to fade.
Dislike: The seam on the bag came loose. Had to resew it. Use. To make crushed ice for my Austrian Shepard to eat. He loves crushed ice.
Love this. It gives a unique finish to the ice. The only thing is my bag did start to tear. I suppose thats normal over time.
Si te gusta preparar bebidas variadas y hacerlo bien, es un accesorio perfecto. Buenos materiales y resistentes.
Easy to use. Washed bag before first use. Bag dries quickly.
This Lewis bag and mallet crusher is amazing! It's easy to crush ice to perfection. Simply place the ice cubes inside the Lewis bag, fold over the top edge and begin hammering away with the mallet crusher. The crushed ice stays inside the strong, sturdy bag. I love this new accessory for my bar.
Does the trick.
Product function as advertised.
I got this as a gift from my husband who loves my bartending skills, I was a professional bartender for a decade. I wanted to install a crushed ice machine in our kitchen, which was met with nopes from my husband, so I assume he bought this for me since it would be the next best thing. It comes with the bag and hammer, which is great for crushing ice, or working out frustrations, thanks Covid-19. We have used this many times since it arrived, and I must say it really makes a huge difference for certain cocktails. We took a tiki cocktail class online during quarantine and this bag was awesome. We made the tiki cocktails from the class and since have used it to make mules, juleps, etc. Get this and you'll be mixing cocktails while looking super pro.
Mallet is a normal size, but the bag is extremely small. You can crush enough ice for a bit more than one rocks glass at a time. I would have just purchased the mallet alone if I had known the picture was not to scale! Otherwise, good quality product and fun to smash ice :)
You can't beat crushed ice from a fridge that has a dispenser that can crush ice, but this is a close second. Gives you the option to either lightly break up the ice, or smash it into a snow-like consistency. The canvas bag dries easily. This is a must-have if you enjoy cocktails with crushed ice.
Great ice pick! I knew something like this must exist and I am not disa
So far so good. The mallet does a good job of crushing the ice and it feels quite sturdy. The bag is still good. I don't use it everyday, but it's stood up to the punishment so far. I only wish that the bag was just a little bigger. It's been ok for my little home bar tending hobby though.
This is great for crushing ice
I was watching a show and the guy used this technique to make his martinis and I decided to try it. I’m a happy camper. Tastes way more smooth and even colder than my old way of making a cocktail. The hammer is quite sturdy I was skeptical of the quality but it’s actually heavier than expected which you want.
I have broken a million steel and aluminum hammers, have destroyed wooden ones that seemed sturdy. My sin? I like to freeze water a gallon at a time and break it up into irregular, large pieces for use in drinks. No hammer has fulfilled my icebreaking dreams like this one. I got a separate hammer for meat tenderizing, think chicken fried steak and 32 oz mason jars of iced tea, and that hammer is great for meat but useless to break ice. In comes the Lewis hammer to the rescue. It's a shame the bag looked bigger in the picture, but if you can't put a quart bag of solid ice in there and make crushed ice, then why bother. I think it was designed for James Bond, who only smashes one ice cube, takes a gulp of martini and then has to dodge a fist. And besides they don't have summers in England, not real summers with 100 plus heat, where a quart of iced tea needs serious ice and needs to be refilled from an even bigger pitcher.
I absolutely LOVE this!!!, if you’re a foodie or into kitchen gadgets this is simple but wow!, Great quality very very happy with this product I will be purchasing more in the future for gifts for my foodie or a bartender entertaining friends
Crushed ice the old-fashioned way...it's a little noisy, but using the wooden mallet to whack a few regular ice-cubes inside the heavy canvas sack makes reliably fine textured crushed ice.
Marteau solide, sac absorbe bien l’eau très bon rapport qualité prix sac pourrait être plus grand..
Sac assez petit mais bonne qualité
Bought this for my brother in law who makes craft cocktails at home-he sent me a text super excited he can make “proper Mint juleps” now. Bag is durable and mallet crushes the hell out of the ice. A win for me (cocktails) and win for him “proper crushed ice”.
Bags a little small to fit over someones head... Bit great for ice!
Perfect crushed ice for my adult beverages!
Best ice pick EVER!!!!
This was a christmas gift for my partner and they’re completely obsessed. Once a week we buy two 10 lb bags of ice both for their chronic ice habit and for their drinks. Our freezer melts them slightly and then freezes again so they become giant 10lb bricks of ice. The amount of slamming on the counter always when i had a headache, the big chunks filling our freezer that we couldn’t separate, it’s all a thing of the past! This mallet works SO WELL. It doesn’t break the plastic (sometimes there’s tiny holes) and it’s so much quieter and it works incredibly well! Just 10 hits of the mallet and almost the whole block is back to its pebble ice form. It’s a godsend. We’re putting in a hook to display it above our sink i love this mallet so much.
El mazo muy bueno, la bolsa aguanto como una semana
Works great for breaking ice cubes.
Great workmanship and nice weight balance.
Love this for crushing ice in small amounts. Great for two martinis, etc. works great!
Love, better than my blender.
I love this ice bag and hammer. It really gets the job done.
Ever wanted the perfect amount of pulverized ice for your Tiki drink? Need to work out some anger? Do you want to scare the crap out of the in-laws? How about all three at the same time? This bag and mallet will outlast you. I suggest after using it to open the bag and drape it over the mallet's handle to best dry it out and keep any musty odors away, but I've never had a single problem with it. Great for when all the ice in your freezer are huge chunks and all you want are small, manageable chunks for your soda or mixed drink. Plus, when you're beating the ever living snot out of a bag filled with ice with this set, people will just automatically assume you're a pro - whether you are or not!
Super easy to use; I just wish that the bag was more durable. Ive got little holes forming on both sides of the bag.
This works great for breaking up bagged, crushed ice that clumps together.
Makes great slushi drinks!! LOVE
I really like the way this ice pick cuts the ice. I get consistent chunks and if they are too large, one whack with this puppy and the ice fits the glass.
Functional wood mallet. Durable, useful and properly sized.
The Real Deal
Makes great ice for martinis

A fine addition for a home bar.
I live in Florida and mere seconds out of the freezer & ice cubes become an ice block - this does the trick!
Nice for making mules or mint juleps
I do have some small holes, but we have gotten a lot of use out of it. Will definitely need to buy another one.
This is a beautifully made ice pick. Three prongs are perfect.
Great accent to bar. Frustrations taken out on ice make for great crushed ice at the bar lol
Les coutures l'intrieur du sac s'en vont et peuvent se retrouver dans le cocktail si on y prte pas attention. Le marteau est de bonne qualit part a.
Does its job to break down ice for mixed drinks. A must have.
Love the crushed ice.
I use this for mint juleps and to crush almonds for my ice cream sundaes. I almost bought a manual ice crusher, but I am glad I got curious about this "hammer looking thing" I didn't know existed. One of the best "kitchen gadgets" I've ever purchased. I recommend.
Its a mallot.
Grandma of Two
Hubby loves it!
Love using this bag. It is a breeze to use.
Used both through the holiday season,& it worked very well, everyone that used it, thought it was a brilliant idea...very good quality.
Love it! So easy to use and crushes ice easily, plus is great for releasing stress!
Works better than any blender! Love it!
We enjoy this even more than we thought we would. And the quality is excellent.
Who would have thought a canvas bag and a wooden mallet would be the next best thing to a fridge that crushes ice, for me!? I bought the electric ice crusher on here... it is now used to make sno cones, as it simply only shaves the ice. This here though... sure you smash the bag and its loud, but, it's just as loud as the fridge would be with a crusher And it's a lil therapeutic. My husband loves his crushed ice, especially with his whiskey. He said ' this is how I know you love me' LOL. 25 bucks... do it. Totally recommend this
Beyond my anticipated idea of this product. Use everyday .... never lets me down. Use to crush all things frozen for grimes cooking prep and presentation.
David J. Mitchell
My huge cubes can now be smashed to fit in my jug. Excellent.
Best product love it
I bought this to make crushed ice for tiki drinks. This is a dead solid reliable way of making crushed ice, without using anything electric or hand crank. There are no blades or parts to rust! Quite a few reviews say that it’s not durable. You don’t need very much forced to crush ice, it’s mostly in the wrist and let the weight of the mallet do the work for you. Also don’t overfill the bag. If you hit it just hard enough just to crack the ice there should be no stress on the seams of the bag. It’s cool to make a bag of ice for a drink or two. But in anticipation for many guests, I can crank out a batch of ice to fill up a 1 gallon freezer bag in about 10 minutes. Another essential item for tiki drinks!
Why didn’t I know about this nifty tool sooner?? Now my mojitos are perfect, and I have the added bonus of getting out my aggressions pounding my ice ;)
The bag is nice and thick. Though the bag is a bit smaller than expected, it should comfortably fit two servings worth of ice. The mallet is fantastically weighted and feels great. Would recommend for a home bar.
Ice bag is great and super strong. Ive been using it with the mallet and it makes perfect crushed ice. My only issue is that when I received it new it had stains on it.
Im not sure if the mallet head is supposed to move and slip
Love to Ride
Fun conversation starter, but also makes good ice for fun drinks.
PERFECT, Crushes ice like a professional bar tender. I highly recommend this set.
This is a nice, solid mallet that shaped up nicely once I applied a couple protective coats of pure tung oil. The bag itself is a bit on the small side, but overall it's an effective combination.
Makes crushed ice as described.
Crazy thinking that a bag and wooden mallet can be better, but we both LOVE this system. My husband was very skeptical about it, but now he uses it all the time too.
W.Y.S.I.W.Y.G. it's exactly what it is, no more, no less. Did not disappoint. I have tried a few ice crushers, but usually return to this tried and true solution.
My fiance is a hobby bar tender at home. He's been obsessing over Lewis ice bags forever. I think he's used it once since he got it for Christmas? It looks cool on a shelf the rest of the time. I'm pretty sure it's use in our house is as a decoration. As for functionality, it holds ice that's been smashed with a mallet well. Mallet smashes ice appropriately.
Strong enough to break the ice of Urgard-Loki and large enough to make enough crush for one hornful of mint julep. Protective gear optional.
This is the BEST ice bag and mallet. Don't settle for imitations!
I've tried so many ways of crushing ice and this is by far the easiest, cheapest, most effective, and most enjoyable so far! Worth every penny.
The handle is very rough and gave me a splinter. Needs to be sanded down.
Great mallet nice bag could be a touch bigger does two drinks worth of ice
Cant beat this deal with a stick ( I mean HAMMER)
The Bag needs to be bigger, but this is great for home tiki drinks or crushed ice for anything.
Only ice bag to use for martinis
Love it. Makes making drinks fun.
Work well and as advertised. Good packaging. Delivered on time. Recommend if you need this....
Best ice crusher! You can easily control the size of the chips from large to small. And you don't pay hundreds of dollars for an ice crusher.
Bought for my mom.she loves chewing crushed ice.lack of iron,dr put her on iron pills.the ice bag gets used everyday.wish it stayed shut when crushing ice but it does the trick.
Item works wonderfully and it also looks and feels nice in the hand. If you're looking for something to crush ice this combination works quite well. My only gripe is the bag could be a little bit bigger
This thing is one of the most fun things I've bought in a long time. Use it to crush ice for soft serve and smoothies on my medifast diet. Works frickin awesome. Make lots of noise and enjoy a cold drink.
Nancy L Zehetner
Works like a charm. Easily crushes cubes. Don't get overzealous or you will be making snow cones for the neighborhood. I put less than a standard tray of ice cubes in and have had no problems with seams. I keep the cubes in central part of bag when banging away. I exaggerate, there is not much banging to get a good glass of crushed ice. I am happy with my purchase.

The bomb. Cocktails, much better and kitchen is clean. This is compact and bery ergonomic. Great bar tool... A must have
Well made and works great. I used to fold ice in a dish cloth and pound it with the bottom of a glass. It was tedious, noisy, kind of uncomfortable, and I always worried about breaking the glass. And the ice always clung to the cotton towel, making it very messy. This takes less than 10 seconds to fill the bag and hit it a 3-4 times for perfect crushed ice. And the ice doesn't stick to the tight woven bag.
Scott E. Detweiler
It's very nice looking and well made. Works as one would expect. Would buy this again knowing what I know now. Yea, it could be cheaper, but I think it is worth it.
Very durable product. Easy to use. However, the bag could use a tie or some way to close it so ice doesn't pop out.
High quality product. This works well and looks great. A great addition to any bar.
