Recipe by Sean Briggs of @itscocktailhour_

Sean Briggs loves a margarita, and his take on the classic tequila cocktail brings watermelon to the forefront. Made with real watermelon and finished with a sugar rim, it's a decadent drink that’s extra delicious on a hot summer day. Make one or two for yourself, or whip up a pitcher of watermelon margs for a party—this drink is sure to be a crowd pleaser.

Ingredients: (Serves 1)

  • 2 oz Tequila
  • 1 oz Orange liqueur
  • ½ oz Lime juice
  • Handful of watermelon chunks
  • Watermelon wedge for garnish
  • Sugar rim

Rim Double-Walled Tumblers with sugar.

Use a Double Jigger to measure, and add tequila, orange liqueur, lime juice, and watermelon chunks in a Shaker Tin.

Add ice and shake vigorously. Fill the glass with fresh crushed ice, made with a Lewis Ice Bag and Mallet, then strain the cocktail into the glass with a Hawthorne Strainer and garnish with a watermelon wedge.

Sean and his wife used to try making a new cocktail at home every week, calling it their Cocktail Hour. Soon he was inspired to start posting his creations on Instagram, and has been sharing cocktail recipes with fellow home bartenders ever since. He loves collecting fun and unique glassware, and still celebrates Pizza and Marg Fridays regularly.
