It does what you want it to. The mallet seems overpriced, I didn't buy it with the mallet, I should have bought it with the mallet in hindsight. I have a plastic and metal meat mallet with a flat side I can use instead, and it simply doesn't have the heft I think the wooden mallet would give to crush the ice easily and finely. Pretty good, I don't know what the recommended way to clean it is though.

SIZE: 7" wide, total length is 11.5", but 2.5" flap, which when folded over reduces usable length to ~7". If fill with ice then just enough for two drinks. MATERIAL: Very heavy canvas, quality. USE: Hit my thumb first use, sugar! But works great at crushing ice. RECOMMENDATION: Would buy again and should have bought years ago!

This was made very well but to small for what I wanted to use it for, to bad this does not come in bigger sizes.

I bought the hammer/bag combo. Then I bought a spare bag so that I could have one bag drying while the other is in use (mold prevention). This bag is great. Before , I was using a plastic bag and the ice would tear it. Get them both hammer and bag.

I love this thing! Simple! Easy to crush my ice with just a hammer!!! Use it all the time in the summer making my fancy drinks.

I love, love, love this little canvas bag. My husband is dealing with weight loss due to cancer and really likes his drinks and milkshakes on crushed ice. I use this bag at least 3 times a day. It works great for making the crushed ice, it dries quickly and is ready to go every time. I’ve only had it a month but it is standing up well to the daily use so far.

These did not meet the need I had for them. I needed ice bags in small insulated cooler for drinks and cooling. Ice melted fast and bag wet. I guess they were not intended for this. Otherwise, a cute bag ...... for something.
DH
Convenient, use it all the time.

Makes great crushed ice that is "drier" than if you crush it in a different type of bag so it doesn't water down drinks as quickly.

Ever wanted to elevate your cocktails at home to a fancier level? Get this Lewis ice bag. I know that crushed ice may not seem like that big of a deal but it really does me a difference. I didn’t get the set with the mallet but use a meat tenderizer to crush the ice. Be aware that though this bag is fairly durable, if you leave ice in it, it will melt and the water will leak through. Make another cocktail to help solve the leftover ice problem.

Great quality. Durable. Doesn’t mold like other bags.

I almost bought one of those noisy electric counter-space stealing ice pulverizing contraptions that needs constant attention and maintenance and eventually break down. Fortunately, I pondered the purchase for a while before finally buying the Lewis Ice Bag. I like it because I always know what to expect, it's easy, fast, dries on its own without rusting, low maintenance with no moving parts, takes up almost zero space when storing, and produces the crushed ice I hope for and expect every time. While this might actually be an entry level hand-operated ice crushing doohickey, it collaborates to produce professional looking and performing crushed ice. In the ice department I feel exceptionally fulfilled and satisfied with this economical, low-maintenance, low-tech version of something that I almost spent four to fourteen times as much for. Something goes wrong with this and for a ten-dollar bill I'm back in business. And, in the end, although a durable hardwearing canvas, it's biodegradable. I recommend using a proper ice mallet for this bag as the design of its pounding surface area could influence the longevity of the canvas bag. I got the 4-1/2" Bora.

Crush ice like a pro and look pretty tough doing it.

My house is lovely but ancient--100 years old this year!--and my fridge cannot make crushed ice. Problem solved! I love making cocktails at home and this is the best way to "make" crushed ice. This bag keeps me from using/wasting plastic bags, and in my experience, crushed ice sticks too much to dish towels... This may seem like a frivolous purchase but it works so well for its specific purpose, I can never go back!

I like this bag, so it gets 4 stars. To get 5 it would need to be twice this size. You can get 2 drinks worth of ice from this. My source cube is 2inx2in. 2 of them fit in this bag and 3 or 4 good whacks gives you the jagged pieces you are after.

This product is great, just make sure to buy a heavy and large mallet; not a dinky one. Keeps ice dry. Nice and thick material.

Well-made and handy for crushing ice with a wooden muddler. 4/5 stars because I wish it was a wee bit larger -- I occasionally have ice chunks larger than what fits into the bag.

Works great as described.

Works

Works great for crushed ice for drinks. If it were a little bit bigger, there would be enough ice for two drinks.
