Hugo Spritz

A modern classic

Originally created near the Italian Alps, the Hugo Spritz is refreshingly bright and remarkably easy to make. This cocktail recipe is a blend of sweet, bubbly, and botanical, traditionally served in a wine glass and garnished with fresh mint.

Cocktail History

The Hugo Spritz was created in the early 2000s in Northern Italy, and it soon gained widespread popularity, becoming an iconic summertime drink throughout Europe. It was designed by Roland Gruber as an alternative to the classic Aperol Spritz, offering a lighter option for anyone looking for new spritz recipes.

Like most great drinks, simplicity is what sets the Hugo Spritz recipe apart. It combines Prosecco and Elderflower Syrup or St. Germaine with a splash of sparkling water and a fresh mint sprig. This blend strikes a delicate balance between floral sweetness and refreshing lightness, making it perfect for a hot summer day.
